It all started out with Oscar Anderson. At the time after World War 1 we had about 70 hereford cows and 3 hereford bulls.
Harold Anderson went to school at SDSU. He was good at taking the pictures and videos and keeping track of everything. He knew the cows from head to hoof. He was the one that got us to having some of the best cattle out there. At the time we had 250-300 cows but it varied from year to year. One of their first sales was 1967. They would always sell the first week of March. Everyone wanted to buy from us even John Wayne. Yes, the famous cowboy wanted to buy a bull from us, but he couldn't make it to the sale.
Burton, Scott, Mike, and Dusty all helped out with the sales when they where around. We had some pretty successful years and some not as great as the others. But like everybody else it was getting pretty hard to sell a Hereford. So we had a Dispersion Sale on October 9, 1979. We kept a few but got rid of everything else.
Then in 1998 we bought some new herefords. Thats with JD Anderson. From then we have been working to get back up to the top of the breed herefords. We have bought cows and bulls from Middlesworth's, Mrnak"s, Elshere's, Stubers, and Rausch's. JD works with his dad Burt. And with his wife(Sylvia) and kids(August,Adam, and Aida).
